Conservation South Luangwa introduced Zambia's first ever detection dog unit in South Luangwa where we are based in 2014, in partnership with Working Dogs for Conservation, a US based NGO. Specialized rescue dogs were imported from the USA and now live in Mfuwe.
The dogs and their handlers are trained to conduct road block searches, intelligence based village and building searches, border and airport searches and area/grid searches. The dogs are currently trained to detect ivory, firearms, ammunition, pangolin, leopard skins, mukula wood and certain species of bush meat.
The strong bond between handlers and dos and their commitment to the project has resulted in immediate tangible outcomes.

This collar is so beautifully crafted and so unique that I get compliments on it daily! My dog loves to be outdoors (as do most) and this collar holds up for the long run as well as looking so beautiful! I LOVE IT!!!
The dog collar I bought was beautiful and matches my dog's color. It fit perfect and has the loop for her license and ID. Very well made and comfortable for her to wear. And it brings back wonderful memories of the times I visited Zambia and Tribal Textiles.
