Woven Placemat with Patterns
Crafted by the artisans from the Luangwa Artisan Collective, this one-of-a-kind placemat is made from natural palm leave that surrounds our local community here in Zambia. Handwoven and modern, these placemats are coming with charcoal patterns made from natural dyes and will effortlessly complement any table setting.
They are so gorgeous that you can also use them as wall art, which is why each of them comes with a string at the back to attach to a hook or nail. Shall you wish to use them as table décor, just undo the tie.
The artisans from Luangwa Artisan Collective are independent artisans that work out from Tribal Textiles, and all sale proceeds go directly to them and their families. We train those local artists in product development and business skills such as merchandising, accounting and pricing. We work with them to create beautiful products and give them access to local and international wholesale markets. We built for them an all-weather work and market place on Tribal Textiles ground, where they can sell to visitors.
While the design and technique are the same, each artisan has his own way of weaving, making each piece unique in its own special way.
