Inspired by abstract patterned Kuba cloths from the Kuba kingdom in Congo, known as the finest products of African Artistry. Continuing to exert a fascination for collectors, as well as inspire us at Tribal Textiles. We took elements from the Kuba shapes and designed this collection alongside our soon to be released Made51 collab with the Congolese refugees in Zambia.
From intricately woven decorative wall art to hand-carved Kunda masks, the Luangwa artisans keep skills passed down through generations alive.
We go beyond fair wages, reinvesting in community strengthening initiatives, and supporting local wildlife conservation.
We are happy to announce that we are now Nest certified.
The Nest Seal is a symbol of assurance to let you know that the items you buy at Tribal Textiles, have been ethically handcrafted in our small workshop.

Located in a remote region of Zambia, we strive to strengthen our small, rural community by creatively supporting conservation and investing in local initiatives.

Our hand painted textiles blend traditional Batik techniques with contemporary composition and bold colours.
From the animals that roam the land we live in to the iconic motifs of Africa’s vibrant heritage, our textiles draw inspiration from the culture and wildlife that surround us.
Each of our products is made by hand with respect for the environment and people.
From design to production, we minimise our environmental impact by sourcing locally, using sustainable materials, and repurposing waste.
Community is at the core of everything we do. We believe in creating a sustainable impact through grass-roots development and providing artisans with opportunities.
