Made by hand, gifted with love. The MADE51 x Tribal Textiles collaboration brings beautiful hand-made crafts created by refugee artisans to the global market. Every product sold helps refugees build sustainable livelihoods whilst continuing to celebrate and maintain long-held artistic traditions.
Inspired by abstract patterned Kuba cloths from the Kuba kingdom in Congo, known as the finest products of African Artistry. Continuing to exert a fascination for collectors, as well as inspire us at Tribal Textiles. We took elements from the Kuba shapes and designed this collection alongside our soon to be released Made51 collab with the Congolese refugees in Zambia.
NEW release of our customer favourite Matika Collection in charcoal and mustard colour ways! ‘Matika’ meaning ‘mud’ in the local Ch’nyanja dialect here in our remote corner of Zambia. Inspired by Mali mud cloth and reflected in our signature batik technique.
From intricately woven decorative wall art to hand-carved Kunda masks, the Luangwa artisans keep skills passed down through generations alive.
We go beyond fair wages, reinvesting in community strengthening initiatives, and supporting local wildlife conservation.
